By Ashish Kumar Mandal ,Janakpurdham : Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City has announced relief assistance for citizens affected by the severe flash floods and debris flow in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers. Following the unimagined damage caused by continuous rainfall last Sunday, the sub-metropolitan city decided to immediately provide around 300 bags of rice worth 625,000 Nepalese Rupees to the affected families.

The recent disaster has severely impacted the following districts and areas:

  • Rasuwa District: Timure, Rasuwagadhi, Syaphrubesi, Hakubesi, Mailung, and Shantibazar areas.
  • Nuwakot District: Betrawati, Trishuli Bazar, and riverside settlements.
  • Dhading District: Coastal areas along the Trishuli River.
  • Gorkha and Chitwan Districts: Lower coastal areas of the Trishuli and Narayani rivers.

The sudden flash floods displaced numerous households and caused massive physical destruction in these regions. In this hour of crisis, Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City of Madhesh Province expressed solidarity by arranging this relief effort.

Providing details about the assistance, Mayor Manoj Kumar Sah stated that Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City stands with the flood victims. “The unimagined and terrible disaster on Sunday affected many families,” Mayor Sah said. “To ensure that victims facing hardship do not suffer from an immediate food shortage, the sub-metropolitan city has decided to provide approximately 300 bags of rice (valued at around 650,000 NPR).”

Mayor Sah also appealed to all sectors, organizations, and citizens to unite and engage in relief and rescue operations during this time of disaster. The sub-metropolitan city committed to conducting on-site monitoring of the affected areas to deliver assistance quickly to the genuine flood victims.
