In the wake of increasing Covid-19 cases lately, Janakpurdham Sub-Municipal has established a 50-bed quarantine facility in Gopal Dharmashala.
The quarantine centre has been set up as part of the preparation for the potential covid-19 outbreak in Dhanusa district where at least nine cases of Covid-19 have been already reported.

According to Lal Kishore Shah, mayor of the local authority, the newly set-up quarantine centre is equipped with all the facilities required to take care of the patients. The centre will have hygienic food, clean drinking water, electricity and free wifi for communication purpose.
“We are doing our best to contain the spread of coronavirus,” Shah told Janakapur Khabar. “The city office is working on several fronts. We are raising public awareness so that locals can stay safe from the deadly virus. Also, we have focused on arranging logistics.”
Last week, the local authority also started spraying disinfectants in various part of the city to curb the spread of the virus. So far, five cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Janakpur alone.The local office said similar facilities with a higher number of beds could be set up elsewhere too if the new centre would be full in the coming days.
Earlier, a 25-bed quarantine facility, located at Swastika Nursing Home, was in brought into operation by the sub-metropolitan office. However, the facility was later closed following complaints about its sub-standard conditions
