Kathmandu, May 26 : The ‘Nepali Rastriya Mandap’ which was developed to impart information about Nepal’s art, culture, tourism and investment has come into operation in Chhantu of Sichuan Province of China. Immediately after the establishment of Consulate General Office of Nepal in Chengdu, Nepali Ambassador for China Mahendra Bahadur Pandey and Vice-chairperson of Chhantu International Chinese Friendship Association Li Li jointly inaugurated the Mandap.

The Mandap decorated in traditional Nepali style on the premises of Asia’s biggest railway port has depicted Nepal’s introduction in Chinese language with the recent map incorporating Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulekh. As informed the walls of the Mandap have been decorated with the images reflecting Nepal’s tourism, art, culture, life and livelihood as well as political, economic and cultural exchanges with China.

Nepali company had developed the Mandap in coordination with Nepali Embassy in Beijing and Chhantu-based Consulate General. According to Company Chair Dhruba Poudel, the Mandap would promote Nepal’s relations with Asian and European countries through China. The Belt and Road Initiative covers the pavilions of 32 countries in the railway port area which connects China with Asian and European countries through surface and sea. Also present on the occasion were consulate general Dinesh Kumar Ghimire and high-level officials of Sichuan Province. (RSS)
