Body of one more Nepali student brought to Nepal from Israel today

Kathmandu, Oct 22: The bodies of four of the 10 Nepali students killed in Hamas militant group’s attack on October 7 in Gaza, Israel have been so far brought to Nepal. One more body has been taken to Nepal today.

According to Keshab Saud, press coordinator of Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Prasad Saud, the bodies were brought to Nepal by Fly Dubai’s airplane. Chaudhary’s body was brought this afternoon at 2:40 PM, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The lifeless bodies of Lokendra Singh Dhami of Malikarjun rural municipality ward no 4 in Darchula district, Dipeshraj Bista of Lekam rural municipality ward no 5, Narayan Prasad Neupane of Ghodaghodi Municipality ward no 4 in Kailali district and Ashish Chaudhary of Bauniya-3 in Kailali district have been repatriated to Nepal so far.

Neupane’s body was flown on Friday night while Dhami and Bista’s bodies were brought to Nepal this morning. Those who lost their lives in the terrorist’s attacks in Israel had been to Israel recently under the 11-month ‘Learn and Earn’ programme. They were studying in the Sudurpaschim University.

The others killed in the incident were Ganesh Kumar Nepali of Jay Prithivi-6 in Bajhang, Anand Shah of Sapahi-6 in Dhanusha, Rajesh Kumar Swarnakar of Madhuban-1 in Sunsari district, Rajan Phulara of Pachanali in Doti district, Padam Thapa of Lamikhal-8 in Doti and Prabesh Bhandari of Sarada-3 in Salyan district. Bipin Joshi of Bhimdutta-3 in Kanchhanpur district has been missing since the terrorist attack.

The process to identify the dead bodies of six more slain students and other legal procedures was ongoing, it was shared. Preparations are being made to transport the dead bodies brought today to Dhangadi of Kailali district in a helicopter belonging to the Nepali Army.

The local administration at Dhangadi has made arrangements to transport the dead bodies from Dhangadi to the respective houses of the deceased ones. It may be noted that a team including Minister for Foreign Affairs Saud and altogether 254 Nepalis stranded in Israel were flown home few days ago.—
