Aashish kumar, Janakpurdham : Activists from ANNFSU and Nepal Student Union have jointly locked down the Dean’s Office at Rajarshi Janak University in protest against the violation of inclusive policies.
According to student organizations, the advertisement issued on Falgun 8 for the recruitment of contract-based and daily-wage teachers and staff did not ensure reservation and inclusion rights for women, Dalits, Muslims, persons with disabilities, and minority groups.
Ravi Kumar Sah, in-charge of ANNFSU, and Trilok Kumar Yadav, acting president of Nepal Student Union, have demanded that the advertisement be made inclusive and that the reservation policy be implemented. They allege that the university has consistently ignored the principle of inclusion in faculty and staff recruitment.
Students argue that since Nepal’s constitution guarantees the right to inclusion, the university cannot disregard it. They have demanded amendments to the advertisement to ensure inclusion, the elimination of discrimination in contract and daily-wage recruitment, and the prompt completion of university building construction.
Student organizations have also emphasized the need for transparency and uniformity in the advertisement process and have called for the intervention of the Public Service Commission in the recruitment process. Additionally, they have warned that their protest will continue until their demands are met.
