7 of Shrawan,janakpurdham : Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, has stated that the Ministry of Urban Development is fully committed to the proper development of Janakpurdham.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new building of Sita Pushpavatika (Manimandap) in Janakpurdham on Wednesday, Minister Singh said the ministry has been contributing to the development of Janakpurdham through the construction of structures of historical and religious significance.
“Janakpur is the wedding site of Goddess Sita and Lord Ram,” he said. “It is necessary to develop it as a global religious tourism destination and a ‘marriage destination.’”

He emphasized that the promotion of religious and tourist sites should not be limited to Nepal and India, but should be expanded globally. He added that the government will be more proactive in expanding the necessary physical infrastructure and facilities to support this.
Although the construction of Manimandap was carried out by the Ministry of Urban Development, Minister Singh stated that the role of local residents and local governments is extremely important for its preservation.
The inauguration program was attended by Madhesh Province Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh, Secretary Gopal Prasad Sigdel, Director General of the Department Machakaji Maharjan, and Acting Chief of the Federal Urban Development and Building Construction Office Binod Yadav.
