Janakpurdham. Under the National Immunization Program, a special program was organized today, on the date 2082.10.21 (BS), in Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City to conduct the HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccination campaign against cervical cancer. The program was held under the chairpersonship of Mayor Manoj Kumar Sah, during which the objectives, action plan, and target groups of the campaign were discussed in detail.

The program was attended by Chief of the Administration Division of the Sub-Metropolitan City, Mr. Jai Kumar Sah, Chief of the Health Division Mr. Vijay Sah, along with division heads, ward-level health workers, and other concerned stakeholders. Participants emphasized that the HPV vaccine plays a vital role in safeguarding the future health of girls and highlighted the need for collective cooperation to ensure the success of the campaign.

According to the Health Division, the vaccination campaign will be conducted from Magh 25 to Falgun 10. The campaign will be implemented in schools across all 25 wards of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, as well as at ward-level vaccination centers. The free HPV vaccine will be provided to girls studying in Grade 6, out-of-school girls aged 10 years, and girls aged 11 to 14 years who missed the vaccination during last year’s campaign.

Speaking at the program, Mayor Sah stated that cervical cancer is one of the most serious health problems affecting women, and that the HPV vaccine is highly effective in preventing it. He urged parents, school administrations, and community stakeholders to actively participate in the campaign, reaffirming the Sub-Metropolitan City’s commitment to ensuring that no eligible girl is left unvaccinated.

Health workers also informed that the vaccine is safe and effective, and encouraged parents to ensure their daughters receive the vaccine within the scheduled period. The Sub-Metropolitan City has expressed confidence that this campaign will have a positive long-term impact on the protection and promotion of women’s health.
