Janakpurdham : Employees of the High Court Janakpurdham staged a “pen down” protest on Monday against the shooting and killing of Sub-Engineer Pramod Kumar Yadav in Sarlahi.
Expressing serious concern over the incident in which unknown assailants shot and killed Yadav on Sunday night, the employees demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and their prosecution under the law. They also called for the deceased civil servant to be declared a martyr, for his family to receive appropriate compensation and relief, and for a government job to be provided to a member of the victim’s family.
The employees stated that with the upcoming elections, they are required to work both in the field and in offices, and such incidents severely affect their morale. They urged the state to guarantee full security for employees and ensure their safety both at work and in their personal lives.

To protest the incident and create pressure to bring the culprits to justice, court services were halted from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon as part of the “pen down” program, said Manoj Kumar Yadav, an employee of the High Court Janakpurdham. He warned that if the perpetrators are not arrested and brought to justice soon, they would be forced to launch further protests and could shut down court operations nationwide.
According to him, employees have been wearing black armbands throughout the day in protest, while government employees in Sarlahi have completely halted their work.
