Janakpur : Julie Kumari Mahato, a leader of the नेपाल कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (एमाले) and a candidate for the House of Representatives from Dhanusha Constituency No. 3, has made public her election commitment letter outlining a clear roadmap for broad-based development. Speaking at a press conference held in Janakpurdham on Sunday, she presented a 10-point action plan aimed at the overall transformation of Dhanusha, expressing her determination to build a “Prosperous Dhanusha, Dignified Madhesh.”
Active in political and social sectors for a long time, Mahato is known as a vocal advocate for women’s empowerment, education reform, and the promotion of local entrepreneurship. She stated that the trust of the people is her greatest strength and pledged to provide transparent, accountable, and result-oriented leadership.
Prioritizing religious and cultural development, she announced initiatives to enlist the जानकी मन्दिर on the UNESCO World Heritage List. She also unveiled plans to develop Janakpurdham as one of the world’s leading wedding destinations and to conserve and beautify the historic Barhabigha area. Her vision includes strengthening the local economy through the preservation of Mithila culture, promotion of traditional arts, and expansion of religious tourism.

In the education sector, she emphasized upgrading रामस्वरूप रामसागर बहुमुखी क्याम्पस and राजर्षि जनक विश्वविद्यालय, focusing on research-oriented and technology-friendly education. She also committed to improving infrastructure in basic and secondary schools, ensuring the availability of qualified teachers, and guaranteeing equal access to free and quality education.
In healthcare, Mahato proposed modernizing प्रादेशिक अस्पताल जनकपुरधाम by arranging specialist doctors and installing advanced medical equipment to provide affordable and quality healthcare services. She also included plans to expand mobile health camps and free health insurance coverage in rural areas.
Considering employment and industrial growth as the foundation of economic prosperity, she pledged to establish an industrial corridor in Dhanusha, revive the closed जनकपुर चुरोट कारखाना, and provide concessional loans for new industries. Her plan includes collateral-free loans, micro-insurance, and skill-based training programs for small farmers, women, youth, and entrepreneurs to promote self-reliance.

Under infrastructure development, she committed to connecting all villages to market centers through road networks, strengthening connectivity between local and strategic roads, upgrading the route of the 15-day Mithila Madhyama Parikrama, and beautifying rest areas. She also proposed constructing a modern ring road around Janakpurdham, implementing planned urban expansion, improving traffic management, and adopting a green city concept.
For youth development, under the slogan “Energy in Sports, Awareness in Youth,” she pledged to operationalize the रामजानकी बहुउद्देश्यीय रंगशाला and शहीद दुर्गानन्द झा रंगशाला, build a playground in every ward, and promote sports tourism.
Giving special priority to border area development, she proposed strengthening economic and social cooperation under the concept “Not a Border, but a Bridge,” increasing farmers’ income through the campaign “When Farmers Smile, the Nation Awakens,” and implementing an inclusive development policy based on the principle of “Leaving No One Behind.”
Mahato concluded by stating that her commitment letter is not merely a declaration but a clear roadmap for implementation, expressing confidence that with the trust and cooperation of the people of Dhanusha, a prosperous, secure, and modern district can be built.
