Janakpurdhaam : The condition of Gangesagar, the religious pond of Janakpurdham, has become very pathetic. It is clearly seen that the Gangasagar, which has almost dried up due to lack of water, has turned into a garbage can.About two decades ago, there were fifty such ponds in Janakpur in which people used to bathe, wash clothes and do their daily work.

The water polluted by the chemical action of garbage and other substances thrown on the shore of the pond is no longer suitable for use. This ocean, once filled with clean water, is the main place for the people of Janakpur to observe Chhath fast.
On the occasion of various festivals, this beautiful pond has now become synonymous with dirt due to idol immersion and garbage thrown by the surrounding residents. According to Deepak Nidhi, a local youth, worms that spread infectious diseases are being born in the pond.

As a result, not to mention humans, even animals and birds do not like to use its water, the main places leading to the ocean ghats are surrounded by foul smell and dirt, while the pond ghats are in a dangerous condition due to lack of proper maintenance, he said.

According to Ashok Lal Das, former president of Gangasagar Chhath Puja Committee, an unpleasant and serious incident can happen to the users of the damaged ghat at any time. For that, he informed that he will initiate the construction and repair of the dilapidated and dilapidated pond ghats with the relevant agencies.
Gangasagar caught in the grip of blind development
Ashish Kumar Mandal, manager of Ashish Chemical Industry and manager and youth director of Waste Management and Recycling Company, who has been directly assisting in the cleaning of Gangasagar since the gap of a decade, has expressed his concern about the current condition of Gangasagar.

The board of directors is going to request Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan city in writing to organize a system including fines by spreading public awareness about the cleanliness of Gangasagar.
Gangesagar, which has become a victim of negligence and government neglect, has become an easy source for garbage dumping, which can prove to be harmful to the environment and health, said Mandal, an expert on sanitation.

Director Mandal said that since the level of ground water in Gangasagar has fallen, it would be preferable to clean up the garbage thrown by unwise people.
As the religious beauty of the Gangesagar caught in the grip of blind development is disappearing, inspired by the purpose of water conservation of the Gangesagar, youth Ashish Kumar Mandal has called upon the people of every religion to help the people of every religion to save the ponds with religious heritage from destruction.
